Core Role of Jaw Crushers in Modern Mining and Aggregate Production
Raw materials are fed evenly into the jaw crusher for primary crushing via a vibrating feeder. After primary crushing, the materials are conveyed by a belt conveyor to a cone crusher for secondary crushing. Particles meeting the feed size requirement enter a sand making machine for further crushing. Afterwards, vibrating screens classify the materials and dust removal equipment removes dust, producing manufactured sand of various particle sizes.
Primary Crushing in Metal Mines
In metal mines such as iron and copper mines, large jaw crushers act as primary crushing equipment to directly process blasted run-of-mine ore. A large iron ore mine uses the C160 jaw crusher with a processing capacity of 1400 t/h. It reduces ore size from 1200 mm to below 250 mm, creating ideal conditions for subsequent secondary and fine crushing processes.
Sand and Aggregate Production Line
In large sand and aggregate production bases, jaw crushers normally form a three-stage crushing system together with cone crushers and impact crushers. A 10-million-ton annual aggregate project adopts two JC1200 jaw crushers working in parallel to process basalt raw materials below 1200 mm. Product particle size is controlled within 200 mm, and the system operation load rate remains stably above 85%.
Resource Utilization of Construction Waste
Large jaw crushers show unique advantages when processing concrete blocks, bricks and other materials from building demolition waste. A mobile construction waste treatment plant in Germany uses a hydraulically adjusted jaw crusher. It can quickly switch between different discharge specifications to produce recycled aggregates of various gradations, with an automatic metal impurity separation rate exceeding 95%.
